For some reason or another, as if I need a reason, I've been on a 701 & 703 kick here lately.

This is one I just received from the large auction site and it included the box and all papers which was nice. Also has the original price sticker on the back.

As I wasn't familiar with Gemco, I had to check the interwebs. Seems to have been a type of department store chain on the west coast that went defunct in 1986.

So as this 703 is date stamped as a 1986, I guess I now have an instant collectors item that will no doubt be in very high demand from all those Gemco collectors out there. I mean, c'mon, an 86 Buck from the stores last year open? Gotta be good. I just need to find the correct forum to list this treasure in. Lol.

Actually, I just wanted to share that original price tag for the knife new. Unfortunately, I paid a bit more than that for it. :) But a trip back for a spa treatment will fix 'er right up.

Yep love the 700 series. I have one I received a 703 from my parents back n 92 I believe. I have the box and receipt put up. Last year I bought a 701 off one of them there big auction sites also. I sharpened a friends old 701 and fell in love with it so the following day started searching for one.

They really are a nice series. Like to see Buck do a sprint run or something with them. 300Bucks here got me started with the 300 series and I was lamenting that there isn't a 3 3/4" closed in the 300 series and it was mentioned to check out the 700's. So now I have a bunch of both 301's, 303's, 701's, and 703's. Dang things are really addictive. I mostly blame 300Bucks for my ruined PayPal status.

I was real pleased to be able to snag the entire brass set of 700's a little while back.

The way that they are a little bulkier in your hand (to me) is something that I find appealing. I find them easier to manipulate when my joints are complaining. Lol.

I cant say I ever seen the brass series. I didn't realize they existed.

In part what gives this model that bulky feeling is in 1986 each blade was given it's own back spring. A handsome series. DM

Here's the brass. I had posted this in another thread a little while back. All unused, but no boxes sadly. Few handling marks in a couple is all.

You know what I thank I'm mistaken. I think I do recall you posting them now. Anyhow beautiful.

Way to go Joe! :thumbup::thumbup:

That one looks like it will clean up like new.
