Just got this 2.5lb Collins cruiser yesterday and had to immediately redo the grind geometry and rehaft it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this axe. I resisted the urge to put any stain on this one and decided to just BLO it and let it age naturally. I think this one may be my new favorite. It really swings nicely.
Just to give you an idea of how slim the handle is, I put my tracker next to it. I got lucky and found a thin, straight haft, with curly hickory! It had been hanging so long in the hardware store it had a tag from the 90's on it. The handle is 28" by the way.
