Is it common for the liner lock to be this difficult to disengage to close the knife? I work with my hands for a living so they are pretty much just one big callus but this thing is killing my thumb trying to close it. Other than that, this is a big tough knife.

I dunno the answer to your question, but that knife is on my "Want!" list. :D

Edit:
Wife is gonna kill me. I've been wanting that knife for awhile. Just ordered it. That pic just pushed me over the edge. I'm serious. She is gonna kill me... :(

I have one and although I've never carried it, I remember that it's a bear to unlock.

With some effort I can close mine one handed, but I primarily close it two handed.

It is the stoutest liner lock folder I own. Price you pay.

Have you tried rubbing the tip of a pencil on the lockbar? A little graphite can go a long way to smoothing out a liner/frame lock.

Just out of curiosity, where does it lock up? Can you post a pic?

The liner lines up in the middle of the tang vs the edge of the tang like most liner locks I have. I am guessing this is why it is so much harder to disengage the lock.
Can't post a pic atm but if you go to the write up I did earlier on this knife you can see on the bottom pic what I am talking about.

I have not put mine to actual use, but have played around with it and carried it a little. It is a beast!!

I am able to open and close mine one handed.

My only complaint is the tough to use pocket clip. It is extremely stiff!! I imagine I could loosen it up some, but I haven't had it out in a couple years now.

What Stumps said....it is a beast. It has a considerably thicker liner lock than any other knife I own. The only thing stiffer than the liner lock is the pocket clip. I had to remove it because I dont use it and it digs into my leg badly as a pocket carry.

The predecessor to this knife, the folding alpha hunter, isn't to easy on the thumb also. But it is one great knife!

I have to agree also. When it first came out I didn't think too much about it. But over time through the reading/vids etc. it has definitely grown on me. It's definitely in my top 5 under $200.00 knives to purchase. Good job on pulling the trigger I hope you post about it when you get it.
