Nice pics and comparisons ! can't decide between this or the ZT0801

I've never had a ZT but as far as the domino goes I cant fault it in any way I really love it! I'm sure some people will hate it, but I find the fit and finish superb, fits my hand perfectly, great steel, flips like a dream, cant ask for more IMO:thumbup:

I have a 0801 and a Domino, and honestly you can't go wrong with either, they are both top notch. I think it would be a personal preference issue. The ZT flips a little better IMO but thats mainly due to it's thicker heavier blade as I have not problem with the Domino the ZT just fires a little harder. The Domino is notably lighter than the ZT and with a thinner blade it slices a tad better. So I guess in that light the Domino is a slightly better EDC, but honestly the 0801 is plenty easy to EDC especially considering it's deep carry clip. ...I guess that's not very helpful...sorry ^^; Um...just buy both! LOL ^^

haha I agree! Just make up your mind that you will eventually have them both. So for right now, its just a decision of which one you want first:D
I dont know how hard the ZT will be to find but the domino has been selling out super fast everywhere. So in that respect, if you see one in stock somewhere just grab it. If you decide you don't like it I'm sure it wont be hard to sell on here

made a quick vid on it! just video, no talking. My first youtube video so be gentle with comments:D

Nice pics! I sure like the Domino, it's so addictive to play with while watching TV at night! My wife is growing annoyed with me, ha :D

I have both, and if you don't mind the weight, IMO ZT 0801 > Domino. It is really heavy, though. almost 6oz. Of course, I still prefer the Southard to both of them, overall.

Just ordered mine today, should be here next week, I am very excited! I think this will replace my Sage 2 as main EDC :)

I think they are both great knives. For me though if both knives are bone stock with no mods I prefer the domino. Nothing wrong withe 801. Its just my preference. I say get whichever knife has the blade shape and ergonomics that best fit your needs. Do you need a choil? Then its the domino. Do you hate scratches on a satin blade, then you may be happier with the stonewash on the 801. Both knives are worth the money IMHO and you cant go wrong with either. They both have amazing fit and finish and both are great flippers and smooth opening. It just really comes down to which one fits your needs better as they are both very high quality.

can't decide between this or the ZT0801

They're both priced about the same, incorporate the best of flipper technology and just outstanding. Domino has a smaller blade and is much lighter. They're about the same width so pocket wise they act similarly albeit for the weight. It boils down to personal preference with look/feel, use and carry.

Nice set of pictures! Shows off the scale and other details very well. Almost makes me regret not ordering one ;)

I think I will go with my original plan and get the ZT 0801. I already have the southard and PM2. I love the Rexford design, and it looks damn close to a custom. maybe ill sell my PM2 and use the money to help afford the domino sometime down the road. You guys are right! you can't go wrong with either one!

Got mine today and after a day of using it at work I have to say, this may just be my favorite spyderco ever. I uave absolutely zero problems with the knife what so ever and the negatives mentioned by a few people such as the blade:handle ratio and height of the blade are complete non issues for me. I actually prefer the domino's blade:handle ratio to most non spyderco knives, I like a full sized handle, but rarely need much more than a 3in blade. The height of the leaf shaped blade has been totally over exaggerated by some posters as well. Its no different than the blade on the sage series, manix series, or tenacious series (read: some of spyderco's best amd most polular knives) , and personally, I love it as the height ensures a nice lean grind which makes it a good slicer. The domino's blade is definitely NOT too tall, unless you just flat out dont like leaf shaped blades, in which case spyderco might not be the best brand for you. The flipping action is better than the southard and the ergos are too. All around, fantastic knife and one that I think will be an absolute home run for spyderco.

So after watching this cutting demo vid on the ZT 0801, I am definitely leaning towards the Domino now !! as a viewer said "It is unfortunate because that knife had the potential to be bad ass. I love the design, however, what is the point of buying one if the edge doesn't hold well."
