My New EDC And A Big THANKS!

Yesterday John (lambertiana) came over my house and surprised me. He showed me this orange Spyderco Military. I thought, Wow he already has a Mili and now he has two while I can only wish I had one. Then he shows me this card and says it goes with the knife. I opened the card and that's when I realized this was for me:eek: I could not believe it! I have never gotten anything like this before in this way. I got the chills!

I've been carrying the same Endura3 that my sister gave me about 4 years ago. It's still a great knife but the Military is better. This will be my new EDC.

I guess I've always talked to John about how I "need" to get me a Military but could never get one. Well, money is always tight these days and do I really "need" a new knife? I think most of you guys know how this feels. This is the one knife that I really wanted. As much as I really like having this knife, the way that I got it is even better! This is definately special.. Thanks so much to you guys who were in on this and to John for organizing it. Also thanks to Bladeforums and especially W&SS because you guys are the reason I can make knives for a living..

You are well deserving of it Ray, and I hope it serves you half as well as your knives serve us!

John was great in putting this together and deserves most of the thanks!

PS, If I see you put that Millie up for sale in the exchange we will all take turns kicking you in the nuts!;)

All the best,

Tony

I am glad you like it Ray! Enjoy it my friend.

Lambertiana came up with a great idea and did a great job of organizing everything. Thanks to him for making it happen.

Awesome gesture guys. Congratulations to you Ray--love having you here.

right on Ray... i'm glad you like it man...:D you contribute a lot to the forums and definitely deserve it..

i thought it was very cool of John to organize this you... once again the true magic of the forums at work.. thanks again John..

And we want you to continue making knives as long as it provides the satisfaction you want.

I have always found that what goes around comes around, and this is just that. You make beautiful tools, things that we can get and admire and use and be proud of. And we can enjoy knifemaking by proxy with your presence here on the forums, since most of us will never be capable of it. So in a way this is a thanks for all that.

That's just too cool...another example of a great group of guys on this forum. I'm been EDCing a Military (couple different models) for the past 15 years...it's one of my favorites. I really like that orange!!

After our move to GA, I'll be bugging you for one of your knives...I've been wanting one of your great blades for some time.

Congrats Ray...it is well deserved!

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered one from the knifecenter....love the hunter orange G10....nice knife.

Congrats Ray. The only thing (k)nicer than receiving a beautiful, new knife is receiving one with all the good wishes and appreciation that one comes with.

tonym: PS, If I see you put that Millie up for sale in the exchange we will all take turns kicking you in the nuts!

You truly are a wordsmith, GS!! lol :D

Thats sooo cool. Im glad I could be involved. Youre a good guy Ray, and I love your work. You contribute a lot of good around here..

You deserve it! I hope it serves you well... The Mili is a great model.

Youre welcome, and ENJOY!!!

Congrats Ray...that was really nice of everyone involved.

You're acceptance of this gift means you're stuck with the W&SS crowd

FOREVER !

Great gesture guys and congrats Ray. I hope this knife gives you the same service your endura has.

You really do deserve it, Ray, for your contributions here, amazing artistry, wonderfully functional designs, and incredible humility. You are still on my short list; I've been drooling over a HWK or variations of it ever since setting eyes on one nearly a year ago.:thumbup: And I hope to finally meet you face to face one of these days at a Bush Bash :)

And thanks to John for putting this thoughtful gift together. Really have to commend his initiative .

Enjoy your new EDC Ray! :D

It was a pleasure to be part of this. You are such an integral part of this forum, and we all enjoy the knives that you make. I thought about just buying one for you, but I figured that it would mean more to you if it came from a bunch of your fellow forumites. I was orginally going to save it for an early Christmas present, but I couldn't wait.

May you enjoy it for a long time.

John - You're a stand-up guy for putting this together:thumbup:

Ray - Hope you enjoy the blade:thumbup:

No way I'm getting rid of this Tony! I've already used it a bit and I really like it. It's not only the nicest knife I own but it's got a lot more value than just being a knife. It will not leave my side unless I'm in the shower or in bed!

John, I'm glad you gave it to me now because I might have bought one for Christmas. It was at the top of my list of what I wanted. Now I can get me a bow:D

You guys are great people. Thanks again! W&SS is the best forum on the net:thumbup:
