Just recieved this one today. Plan on making it my EDC for a full year at least to see how it holds up. Love this knife! Will take new pics after a year.
This is an interesting idea. Pick a knife and carry it with you for some period of time (say a year) then see how it holds up. Kind of obvious but I don't many folks doing that.
It will hold up fine for the year and well beyond. I've had an original Para as my EDC for a few years now and it's been through a lot. The blade broke on me(my fault completely) so I reground it onto more of a sheepsfoot style. The blade is now 2.8" tip-to-scales. I'ts been dropped, stepped on, flicked and "spydie dropped" countless times, and generally used a lot and never babied. Still locks up solid and never lets me down. I keep thinking about replacing it, but it's hard to justify the cost when the new knife won't do anything this one can't already do.
Although, those upcoming ZT0561's are quite tempting.
idk people might be suprised. i carried a recon 1 for a year and the pivot is pretty slopy now. i have movement in all directions. granted the knife took a beeting. i would love to see how that para 2 will hold up. i know a few people with benhmade 940's and 710's from the first productions in 154cm steel and their still fine. being a knife freek i can not imagne carrying the same pocket knife for a decade. i did it for the recon 1 because i orderd a few benchmades that i had problems with after a few months so it just fell in my pocket permantly. i am now doing 3 month cycles on blades in the pocket. right know is a ffg manix and by march there will be a benchmade 551S H2O. that will be my last benchmade for a long time if i have problems with those omega springs again
