I just got my RAT-1. The desert/black looks awesome. The knife is similar to some of my CRKT's, but a lot tighter. I think it just bumped my current EDC (a CRKT My Tighe. I need to retire that knife! It has served me well.

It's a good one. Picked up the satin/desert sand model a few months ago. Was very impressed with the quality and value for the money.

The Rat-1 is a lot of knife for the money. Good AUS-8 steel, full flat grind, 4 way clip, nice ergonomics, and the plastic handle could make you think its G10. At $30 shipped, its one of the best values out there in my view.

It looks online like it is 5 oz., and thats not bad at all. It doesn't feel heavy in the pocket, and rides thin.

I have an older rat-1 that I have used for EDC and as a work beater. It is one heck of a knife.
At 5oz it is a bit on the heavy side though.

I guess it all depends on what you are accustomed to carrying. I tend to like folders in the 3 to 4.5 oz range.

copy that, little heavy for my liking but not a deal breaker.

same, I like less weight if possible which things like PM2 spoil you with.

By far my favorite edc folder in the price range. I've been carrying my OD/black one for a while. I've got my coworker hooked on them as well. His is the tan and satin.

i love my Ontarios. great knife for the price... i have it in green and KW exclusive grey

It's my new EDC. I have 2. The desert/black blade and the black/satin blade. To me they are just right for everything I want in an EDC knife.

Big plus they were both $30 plus shipping. Great value. Also they open nearly as fast and effortless as my Kershaw assisted.

I like how low it rides in your pocket. It is "just right". I carried a full size CRKT Lake Thunderbolt for 3 years---that knife was •Weight: 7.4 oz.!!!

Great knife for sure. Now the Utilitac II or a Junglee!!! :D

Agree with the above posts-excellent value in a very good knife. a bit bulky for edc but that is just my personal opinion.
