I just got home this EDC Sebenza. A Sebenza I believe Chris Reeve today have repress he was a part of this one. It´s a nylon framed small Sebenza with a Eddie Bauer logo at the same size as a small regular Sebenza made by CRKT.

Not smooth like silk, not steady like a rock but a very nice EDC beater who don´t will get some scratches on the handle.

Did you get that at an Eddie Bauer store or find it somewhere else? I'd love to find one of these. Great pictures. They told the story well.:)
 
and it´s like Lynn shows Jim, I found it on Ebay. I don´t suppose you can found them in a store longer. And John, no it´s not so sharp like it look, it feels great when you open it. But it´s not the same as the real deal.

L.O. - Thanks for the url. That gave me all the information I needed. I hadn't heard of this knife.
 
Let me set the record straight on the CRKT knife. Several years ago, we were approached by CRKT with a proposal that they make an inexpensive version of the Sebenza. The idea seemed a reasonable one, but the major proviso was that the knife was of a quality acceptable to Chris. No knives were to be produced until his go-ahead was given. Samples were made and the quality was never there. We terminated our agreement with CRKT and they assured us that, except for a few samples, no knives had been produced.

Over the years quite a few of these "samples" have emerged - this one with the Eddie Bauer logo on it is new to us. Please fully understand that this knife and any other nylon/plastic handled versions are NOT legitimate Sebenzas, even though the name appears on the knife.

I´m sure we all know it´s not a real Sebenza.

The quality is far away from the real deal.

But it´s a rare one and I believed CRKT have sold them.

I´m ready to trade it with you for a small Sebenza with wood inlay if you want it off the streets. :-)

Not having held one I can't really comment. But from the photographs it looks like it's done pretty well.

Just because it's not an real sebenza doesn't means it's not still of reasonable quality.
 
smart@ass comments as a223cat doing. Just say POS of things he never been close too. Talking about copy´s and things. It just proofs there is a lot of BS´s out there, I can accept your opinion if you say you don´t like it. But try to talk about things you know and don´t just throw things out.

I just wants some comments about the knife and as I say in earlier post, and the knife is NOT like the real deal. It´s a great beater where I don´t have to be worry about if there will be some scrathes.

Is the lockbar made of the FRN or does it have a steel liner?
How is the lockup?
Does it have steel liners?

a piece of steel at the lockbar and you can see there is even a little locker for the blade when it´s closed. At the blade you can see a little hole for the locker at closed position.

The lockup works but it´s not so tigth as the real deal. But what can you expect for $60. :-))
