I've just done my first leather sheath for The Ant :)

It's not perfect, but the second one will be better.
The idea oft this sheath was to carry knife at my back but not horizontal - with a little angle with the tip up.

I've used black leather (already black) and probably that why wet forming ant hard waxing isn't good (raw leather is like sponge, dyeing is like impregnation).
Wax made that leather sounds like plastic with a little "click" but it should be much harder. Now the knife sits securely but in the future it will be a little to loose.

Looks good, but how are you going to prevent the sheath from sliding left to right/right to left?

That's a nice start. Are you going to have to ad a retention strap in the future to prevent it from falling out?

I love the leather wrapped handle also.

I wear it between my trousers belt loops for me it's just enought.

Thanks! Pleas see below.

Looks nice, but that leather belt loop is going to stretch and deform.

The leather is hot waxed so it's almost as hard as plastic/kydex.
That's why I'm not going to ad any strap and I'm sure that the loop won't stretch.
If the sheath will be to loose to hold the knife, I'll do another one :D

In a matter of fact I'll do another one soon - this one isn't perfect.

Sheath is sweet and the leather wrap is awesome. How well does the leather wrap grip when wet/bloody?

Cool, I'm not familiar with hot waxed leather but it sounds like a nice way to do a sheath of this style. The first one is usually just good practice for the next one. :)

I'm not that patient it would take me forever to wrap & have look good in leather... i don't even have para on mine
