I like orange peel just fine, there is an art to applying it.

For myself, I like a spear or clip blade and hate dissimilar handle treatments. DSFDF.

It's cool that the shape of the clip follows the handle, is that a gouge on the left side by the screws?

Looks very solid and well made, F&F seem to be up there!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

i ll have to look the handle over closer to check about a gouge
as for the un even handle scales im with you for the most part i jsut didnt want this to get too heavy (last EDC was nice and light dual bolsters and curly koa )
as for F&F im likly going to have it apart a few times in the next weeks so its all going to get tuned even better. i was really at the point that i jsut wanted it finished so i can start cut testing the new to me steel/HT

the more i look at it the more i feel lie i shoud put gold screws in the ironwood section... thoughts ?

I don't care for dissimilar handle treatments either but solid overall design, especially the profile/blade shape.

all the silver with the nice ironwood kind of off ballance to my eye but i didnt want to be really contrasty

dave whats a zero edge? its a really fine edge and has already been sharpened

There are three things I like about this knife:

1) the curve of the spine of the handle running up the spine of the blade

2) the lack of a 'guard' on the underside of the handle, allowing a high grip, and the nice blending of those curves

3) the thumb notch for the lock is cut into the seam between the bolster and the scale, which breaks up what I usually find to be a terribly unattractive straight line. Although I'm not a bolster fan, this one is nice variation.

Hi,

Like Ban Tang does, not sure what to call it, no visible edge grind, just a gradual narrowing from the spine to the edge that is razor sharp.

got the mic out and the blade thickness where the sharpening bevel is is under .010 plenty thin for an EDC
being hollow ground before sharpened edge was likly around the .005 thick

Wow. I like that a lot. Great stuff. I'd love to try some of those super steels!
