I don't usually hang around this forum but I thought I'd post this here since it's about a Spyderco..

I got a surprise gift this weekend. My friend John (lambertiana) got a group of guys together to buy me this knife. I've always talked to John about how much I wanted an orange Military but just couldn't get one for myself. It's the one knife that I wanted for EDC to replace my Endura that I've carried for the past 4 years.. Thanks a bunch guys!

Congrats Ray! That's a great knife, and the one that is riding in my RFP this week.

If I was given a choice to pick one Spyderco blade for all around usage ( especially outdoor) and I was to pick either a plain edge or combo edge I would either pick a Military or the G-10 Endura. Both have excellent blade length to handle length ratio. Both have excellent blade steel and both have incredibly contoured grip for a production folder.

You have very good friends Sir and I envy you greatly. Congratulations on a great new edition to your cutlery arsenal.

I must warn you though because Spyderco knives are a lot like the old Lay's potato chip commercials where they used to say "I bet you can't eat just one" :D Nor will you be able to be content with just one Spyder either
