Hello guys!
I am writing to brag on my new knife, it is an elishewitz spectar bolster lock with a 3 inch blade. I would like to say thanks to knife art. I haven't been able to keep the knife out of my hands. Fine attention to detail and workmanship. Its got green G-10 handles
I wish I could post a picture
thanks for the advice on purchasing

I'm an Elishewitz fan and the Spectre is my favorite of Allen's designs. I've been waiting for the new locks before buying a customised Spectre. How do you like the lock?

I have been trying to lay my hands on an Elishewiz for a LONG time, just never works out($$$) But that will change soon!

HJK I am a little weary of liner locks. The bolster lock is as wide as the tang of the blade and so far no complaints. The knife is just beautiful and smooooooth.
Thanks

I have not experienced this type of glassy action opening a knife. I don't condone snapping my wrist and slamming the blade open...but with the smallest of effort of flicking my thumb the blade will open and lock.
If anybody reads this, what is your thoughts? Am I silly doing this with this expensive of a knife? The action is sooo smooth it is almost irresistable. Sure I could ride the opening stud open everytime.
The material the knife is made of and the precision, do you think it can withstand this?
I think I can answer my own question. If I want my knife to last ride the thumb stud open. When I gently flick the stud and the knife is pointed down, she will come around and lock.
I appreciate any replies

I posted a topic that asked the very question of flicking. Some makers said that it would damage the stop pin and create blade wobble. Another perspective is, if you enjoy a little flicking then go ahead...in moderation. Flicking WILL wear out the knife faster thab riding the thumbstud, but how much faster is the real question. It's a definite judgement call...perhaps you could ask Allen when he gets back from the SHOT Show.

my $0.02,
Mitch

On the Diablo the thumb studs double as the blade stop, so the construction techniques differ somewhat. I avoid flicking to prevent excess wear on any knife, but that is a personal choice. I love the Bolster Lock!
