Went to my friendly neighbourhood knife store and spotted a PE FRN Spyderco Endura among his new shipment. Fell in love again! Also bought 2 spydie sharpener (204 M & F) to replace my DMT.

Now all my knives are hair popping sharp! But the Endura is soooo sharp out of the box that my hairs just wilt away when I bring the blade near my forearm :) My forearm is also cleaner shaven than my wife's leg now :D

Got cut good last Sunday trying to get the bead blasted finish out of my SOG Pentagon Elite II and got 4 stitches for that. Got cut again today playing with the Endura... But I've got no idea when and how I got it. Just felt that the Endura was overly wet and sleek, looked down and saw blood. Damn, I love this knife :D

BTW the Endura is ATS-55 on Spyderco's home page but VG-10 is stamped on my blade. Which is "better"? And when did spyderco change the material?

Thanks
Sean

They changed the material a while ago. (2001 or 2002?) There website was never updated I guess, becuase the change was from ATS-55 TO VG-10.

VG-10 is definately a superior steel. It is much more corrosion resistant, and will hold an edge for quite a bit longer then ATS-55.

LMAO:D - Can I use that quote mate?

Go right ahead with the quote.... No patent on it!

I can't wait to go to work tomorrow and show the guys this knife.

You know us dumb construction macho dudes... They'll pretend to know all about knives, sharpness and all... Run their thumbs right along the edge and start yelling. They've been cut a number of times doing that on my other knives but they've not been properly introduced to the Endura yet. Guess it's time they learn to respect my words when I say "It's very sharp!".

Wonder how many thumbs I'll be picking off the ground tomorrow?:D

I have both a plain-edge, and a fully-serrated Endura (both stainless), and I can't believe how sharp they are, and what an excellent value these Spydies are.

The Endura plain edge is an outstanding knife for the money.

As glockman99 says, they take a very good edge and stand up to much abuse.

I like the lockbacks and have gone to carrying them for edc this year in lieu of the linerlocks.

I usually end up selling the ones I own from my pockets when others seee them. Happened last week I had two one, left and right front pockets at the club for breakfast on Sunday.

Sold both, and had only got them in the week before. Now I need to order more [ took some orders as well ] and need to replace the two I want in the drawer.

No matter what I am carrying, or for how long, they have always found their way back into my pockets eventually.

A real sleeper edc for defense at an unbelievable price point. Even if I paid retail for them I'd have a few around.

Good luck with it, it's a workhorse and will serve you well.
