Just opened 20 minutes ago. Brand spanking new Fat ASH. Haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet obviously........but I thought I should at least brag some.

I imagined the balance point would have been just north of the scales.......but its not. Its right at the top tube........which makes the blade feel extremely maneuverable in the hand. Very impressed by the feel.

I did not expect it to feel this comfortable and lively in the hand for such a massive blade.

Now if you don't mind..........I need to bond with my new treasure while I treat my beer like a fish treats water. Drinking alcohol and drooling over my newest acquisition of steel is a bit of a tradition for me.

Glad it arrived safely bud. Beat it in good health! Be sure to thin down that shoulder some. It'll bite deeper than the tglb you have.

Congratulations!! Gorgeous ASH!! Now go beat it through something no normal knife could handle so she doesn't look so HUNGRY!!

I bet those thin scales are what help to make that massively thick blade feel so lively!!
I liked the Mag scales on thick stock until the first time I held thin scales on .30" or thicker stock.

mmmmmmmmmmm .......... I love me some ASH...!!! My first fatty (well FIRST) was a .32 with standard grips, and yes, they do just feel right in the hand ...!!!!

Eric makes a fine sheath as well !!!!!!
