Well, okay, it still has to take a backseat to my arrow fighter--but it's the first one that's ever challenged it for the title.
I have a FBMLE balanced across my lap as I write this, and it's one of those I just about can't put down---forgive me the cliche, but now THIS is a knife! Actually, it's a khukuri that just forgot to bend when it grew up. I didn't get home in time to do anything with it other than cuddle, but this blade is wide enough to actually combine a 5/16" spine with a realistic blade geometry, and I have to say I'm looking forward to taking it out for a jaunt. I mean, this is a DEEP flat grind--it comes out significantly thinner behind the edge than my 1/4" FSH. True, that's not a full flat, but it's still thinner stock to start with and has darn near as much blade width to play with. Don't get me wrong, the FSH is a great knife, but this one would have outcut it anyway just do to mass increase; but that combined with a notably thinner edge and lower blade body should make the BM just scary.
Also, I take back what I said long ago about "having to learn to not hate" the fusion handle--I should have just started with the magnum scales in the first place so that my long fingers had somewhere to go. Now I get it.
As tremendous a tool as the Rat Daddy is, I think it's about to be out-powerhoused. Time to get in touch with one of the leather masters. This knife needs a house so that I can take it out to play.
Thanks to Jerry for the design and all the INFI craftsmen for their work, and of couse special thanks to Amy for sitting on the phone with me while I waffled over whether to order one.

Oh and yes, I know---pictures. Well, believe it or not, I've actually finally obtained a digital camera. I'm hoping that, very soon, I'll be confident enough in my self control to actually learn how to work it and not give in to the overwhelming desire to throw it against the wall. I miss film...
