I was looking for a fixed blade that was more practical for what I need. I searched high and low and found the exact knife I wanted. My new hunting knife!! Lionsteel m5.
Fit and finish is absolutley perfect. The mill work on the grip is amazing. Palm swells are nice. Also, a real leather - form fitted - sheath. Best of all available with, yes, real wood grip!
Thanks for letting me boast about my new baby!

Congratulations! That's a really nice looking knife! Let us know how it performs after the honeymoon!

The little hump on the spine sort of looks like an afterthought to me, but other than that it looks nice and I hope you enjoy it.
The carving on the spine of the scales looks like a nice touch, and I'm sure it adds some nice grip when your hands are wet.

How many times did I tell you to get one of these? Glad you're happy with it. It's a lovely knife.

I had another knife that had a crowned spine. Some guys don't like it because of the whole fire steel thing.

Very nice! The mill work on the wood scales really add some class to an already beautiful knife!

I really like the looks, specs, and over F&F of the M5 and M7 blades. I may need to add one to the collection at some point.

Lionsteel makes great knives! Enjoy! I gotta get my hands of one of their fixed blades, I always hear good things about them.

How much did you pick it up for and what steel is it in? On the hunt for a hunting blade and looking at Sendero or a Nyala.

I've looked hard at the Lionsteels, particularly the M3 and M4 (but also the M5). I've come close to pulling the trigger a number of times; but I have too many knives that size. Wait - did I just say that?

Those are really quite beautiful and simple knives... i should get one or two to match my SR-1 and TS-1
And Sleipner steel is probably far more suitable for a big fixed blade than in a 3,6 inch folder...

Nice blade! I was torn between getting that one or the M4 for quite a while. Ended up getting the M4 instead because I already have a couple 4.5" blades and needed something a bit shorter. The leather sheaths Lion Steel makes are really nice as well.

Enjoy your new baby! :)

I like the design of the sheath. I prefer a leather sheath to plastic. Is the leather good quality? Is the sheath well made?

Oh, hell yes. Very well made. I would say it is right up there with my Patriot Leather sheaths! High quality, also hand made in Italy.
