Was pretty busy today, but found a few minutes this afternoon to get some pictures of my new Fiddleback Forge Bush Hermit that arrived yesterday. :D

I'm quite enamored with it, I have to say. It's a bit larger than I expected it to be, even knowing what the specs were. I really like the grip-filling handle, and I'm really happy with the blue burlap micarta! Can't wait to get my custom leather for it, but that also means I have to be without it for a couple weeks. Oh well, good things come to those that wait. :foot:

Enough chit chat, here are the pics! :p

A couple spine shots to show off the contrasting yellow pinstripe over black liners.

And a few oblique shots to show off the cleavage and backside. Uh, I meant the spalting and handle... ;)

Hope you enjoyed them!!! :D AWESOME knife!!!

Nice pictures!! I'm quite intrigued by this model. Hopefully I can snag one of the Trio's that the Hermit was designed for when those are finished up...

Knife cleavage......maybe that's why I like holding them.

A new pick up line...."Hey, that's a nice plunge line you got there"

Better stop before my wife walks in and reads this post

Very nice! I am really looking forward to checking out a Hermit later. I really like the look of the profile over all.

I think we all are stalking "our" preferred Hermit these days. I almost pulled the trigger on a scandi one on a whim, but that's just not my style...the scandi, I'm all about chasing whims....

Lol, that's awesome!

The navy burlap looks excellent on that Bush Hermit, and the spalting has been great on all the knives from the Forge nowadays since the switch to a2. Congratulations on that knife

I think I need a Bush Hermit in my life...

Here's the brother Bush Hermit to yours... I am impressed with the quality of this knife and design. Great photos by the way! I figured it only right to post the other one from Fiddleback Friday.

Is that the Oreo one that sold the same week? I liked that one a lot too!

That's it, which is why I called it its brother. I really like both of them. The blue with yellow pinstripe really is awesome. Not sure as to why my photos didn't turn out so well after posting here.

Great thread, and cool pics of both knives shown so far. Glad to hear you're liking the knife. I can't stop fondling mine. Its in my center console right now with a cool Rick Lowe sheath. (THanks Justin)

Plunge line. LOL.

I'll be there in two weeks with a bunch of them for you to feel out! I EXPECT you to be there B.

Thanks everyone, I'm very much enjoying the knife. She's already picking up a patina from use, especially from the peach I sliced up over the weekend and forgot to rinse the blade off right away. Oh well. :p

Unfortunately, she had an accident though. :thumbdn: I was cutting down a bunch of cardboard boxes last weekend, and set down the Spyderco Maxamet Mule that I was using, and when I went to pick it back up, I wasn't being careful, and smacked the tip/edge of that knife into the Hermit's handle. :( Sadly, it took a small nick out of the presentation side of the scale right near the bottom forward black pin. :barf: I was sad, but this is going to be a user, and things will happen. I could fix it with a little bit of superglue and sandpaper, but it's not too bad and I may just leave it alone for now. Will take a pic of the bloody gore this evening. :grumpy:

Pic as promised. Not the greatest quality, but shows the patina well, and you can see the mark near the lower forward pin from the accident it had over the weekend. :(

That's a nice BH Spyderphreak [emoji106]

Patina and marks / scuffs give a knife more character.
