I tried but failed at the pics, sometimes it works, but this isn’t one of those times. Anyway, I went knife shopping two days in a row and found a fixed blade that I am happy with. I ended with the WE Vindex with a black stonewashed blade. My original plan was something other than 1095 steel, micarta handles, and a blade length between 3.5-4 inches long priced 80 -100 $. The blade on the Vindex is D2, slightly over 4 inches, and has G10 handles for 109$. A few compromises but I am tickled with it.
I ended grabbing a Sog Pentarc, a Hogue X5, and a couple sharpening rods for my Sharpmaker while I was there as well. Of course my wife did a little shopping herself in the kitchen supplies section, so we both left happy.

Is this the right color?

Nice knife and an excellent blade-steel. Great woods/camping knife.
And...did you say that your wife COOKS? Gosh, well done, sir.

Looks kind of futuristic, I like it. The handle has some interesting contouring, how does it feel?
