I was going to get rid of this knife......but then I thought better of it.
I just got her last night in the mail. She's a beauty to me. At first I thought 'dang this thing is heavy and a bit larger than I want' (being 3 full back-springs and 4 1/8" closed. Then I got my head out of the clouds...
It's a Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield Whittler Stockman. I just ordered this knife about 4 days ago. I just got it yesterday. It is a tank of a knife but it is awesome. It's got yellow banana peel bone scales, 1095 blades, 3 full back-springs and it's beautiful. It has a long pull on the main clip blade. There is also a small spear-point blade and a small spey blade.
It comes with what looks like a brass stamping of a GEC blade. After talking to Mike at Collectorknives.net he let me know it was an opener in case my fingers were not ready for the strong GEC springs.
It was awful nice of the folks at Collectorknives.net to send a little extra like that.
This knife has pinched bolsters too that are at a slight angle. There is just nothing bad to say about it. I love the round tube that it came in and the waxpaper. That's just total old-school goodness. I'm going to buy another GEC knife (a Barlow) just because the quality and fit and finish are just unreal. I will now be buying these knives for friends who don't have knives.
Enjoy the pics. This baby is a keeper. I'm loving the Banana Peel Bone too.
