I recently received my new tomahawk from Vec and Erica at Equinox Coronado. It is a Gen 1 Mark 3. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Vec really did a Class A job building it. I have looked it over for a few days and yet to find a flaw.

The hawk is built like a tank. It includes a Cold Steel Trail Hawk head, Strike Plate, internal Molar Strike Plate, 1000 Denier Cordura, 550 paracord and a cowled ring in the butt end and an 18 inch composite handle. I don’t think it has a weak spot. Even though it is built like a tank and built “extra ballsy” (as Vec put it) it doesn’t weigh as much as a tank. In fact, it weighs the same as my stock Trailhawk from Cold Steel. 24 ounces. The hawk feels very solid and the shape of the handle fits my hand very well.

The customer service was great as well. I originally wanted the handle covered in the new Air Force ABU pattern. They had never used this pattern before, it is a very new pattern and currently in high demand from the AF so it is very hard to find. Never the less Erica worked with me for days via e-mail and we searched everywhere online that we could both find to try and locate this pattern in the correct material weight. After we had both e-mailed multiple material companies we finally decided we were stumped. The correct material just isn’t being made yet, at least not anywhere we could find. The pattern is just too new and in too high demand.

Erica suggested I go with the foliage green color because it was one of the shades in the ABU pattern. I’m glad I did. It looks great and matches the pack I will carry it on very well!

After I ordered the hawk my deployment date got moved up. I let Erica know this and Vec rushed my hawk to ensure it would get to me on time. He succeeded. In fact he got it to me with a few weeks to spare so I have time to make a matching case for it out of some lighter weight ABU material that I got my hands on.

To anyone wanting to buy a tomahawk and not have to worry about its performance or the customer service behind the product, this company has my recommendation hands down. Not only is it a high quality hawk but the customer service is Topnotch!

Vec and Erica,

Thanks for you time, hard work and great product!

Cheers,

Shawn

Shawn,
Nice looking hawk, great write up on it. And thanks for serving , best of luck on your deployment.

Nice! Those VecHawks are addictive. Soon you\'ll be wondering what all the fuss is about with the longer ones and before you know it you have 2 hawks and you are scheming on a third. Ask me how I know. :)

thanks for the write-up, brother shawn.

we ain't perfect, that's for dang sure, but we are growing each day here at the humble Hawk Project, and aim to please.

thanks again, brother.

thanks for the "hoo-yagh!" brother snake'...!

we are far from where we want to be, but we are getting there - the thing we really need to get across more is that everyone who buys from us is considered an Investor, not a client...;

well-after these hawks are dead and/or lost, we expect to still be supporting the wonderful folks who bought them, with new hawks and other developments at crazy deals, because they are what keeps the Hawk Project going - not just with their dinero, but especially with their friendship and feedback on their hawks, which allows us to press on - our Joy comes from perfecting these things, and making new goodies for our investors (like they had their own proto shop! - cue James Bond music - har!), and hopefully that translates to a pleasurable experience for all you cool cats, ya dig...?

i know some brothers here do diggit.

you aren't really buying hawks from us, you are buying the Happiness Guarantee.

we think that's the way to do it.
