So in celebration of paying off all of my debts from my inheritance and wanting to treat myself I went hog wild on New Grahams site. When I looked at my want list I got a shiver- 26 items for $1300. Well 26 is my lucky number and 13 is half of 26 so it must be meant to be right? Seeing as all of the X-mas presents for others were also miraculously back in stock that day I knew what I had to do so here is my indulgence (in groups).

Pocket clip folders:
Benchmade Rukus
Spyderco ZDP Endura Green
Lonewolf Harsey T1 in Rosewood
Kershaw Damascus Leek
Benchmade Mini Grip Blue
Boker Subcom Tan
Boker Wharncom

Then the Slipjoints:
Victorinox Electrician
Case: Red Wharncliffe Damascus trapper
Black Sowbelly
Red Seahorse Whittler
Burnt Amber Damascus Stockman

Fixed blades:
Blackjack Quick
Tops Hoffman Harpoon
Cold Steel Mini Pendleton Hunter
Graham Mid-tech Stars and Stripes Ringed Razel

Need something to sharpen all of these (even though I am a diamond guy):

Now what happens if the power goes out at home or the light burns out before my girlfriend comes home now that it is getting dark early (happened on Monday and hard to change lights from a wheelchair):

Inova X1- blue and white light
Inova X5- red and white light
Surefire 6P- white Xenon

Misisng is the Swisstool Spirit that I had to send back but will be getting returned soon.

I know that this would be a good collection for anybody starting out and fills some gaps in my collection. I got companies that I had not used (Surefire, Innova, Lone Wolf, Case, Blackjack, Sharpmaker, Graham Knives, Tops). Updates on Boker: I only have an old slipjoint. I think most every task is covered (chopper, neck knife, multitool, pocketknife, sharpener, wilderness survival, pretty knives, tip up/tip down, framelock/axis/liner), as a group they are not boring to look at (colorful, variety of colore and styles).

As I cannot get out and about for a while I have not had a chance to use all of them but here are my initial thoughts:

CASE SUCKS- made in America quality my ass!!! All had bad fit/finish problems, and no sharpness (I'll start another thread in the traditional forum to discuss this after this post).

Overall fit and finish is good (Exception of above a small chip on one white ceramic corner sharpener, black spot on Blackjack Quick is where the edge starts.)

Lone Wolf liner lock is, well a classic lone wolf liner lock from what I have heard. I could unlock the knife using finger pressure on the spine when I first took it out. I did some fiddling with it and it is acceptable to me now as it was never meant to be a hard user but more of a sheeple friendly EDC type/ present for my girlfriend if it caught her eye (that way the other ones I want won't be taken- almost lost the TOPS). The Rosewood looks more like the cocobolo that I have than the Rosewwod in my basement- a good thing! Will I ever trust the lock- NO- but I never fully trust anything (even myself).

Surprised with how well I can carry the Rukus- IWB or in pocket carries very well. Rolled an edge last night while cutting new bedroom furniture, took out the Sharpmaker and it touched up right away- even though I am a Diamond kind of guy the Sharpmaker has worked very well- except I have found I only use the edges so far. The Tops is very comfortable in hand with the wrap- I added a Photon Microlight (from New Graham) and it feels complete for short term survival. I am really glad that the Graham Razel was ringed as I don't think that I would trust using the chizel tip much without it- although for the money I would have expected the cutouts to be more uniform (the stripes are roughly cut out, with divots and waves within the pattern). Even though it is mid-tech I expected more.

I like the flashlights, wish the Innova's were not sterile (put name and model number on it), and will probably get a LED for the surefire for extended burn time.

Any Questions/ Comments- sorry for the long read but I had a lot to say:D

How's the sheath on the mini Pendleton? Will it hold the knife inverted? I've been looking at one of those to hang from a carabiner with my keys. Any chance of an in-hand pic? Thanks.

Frank

I'll get a pic up tomorrow. The sheath is so/so- I would trust it for warehouse etc. work but not in the woods- I am making a kydex sheath for it as soon as I can walk again.

I am really impressed with the Wharncom especially- it is one of the ones from this group that I have carried the most. I actually got is as a possible first knife for my kids (if I ever have more than one). It is a small blade with a substantial handle, good lock and steel, easily opened and hopefully comfortable in smaller hands. Till then Dad gets to play.

I like the flashlights too. Surefire just came out with a 6PL. You can save battery life by using your depleted 123s from the Surefire in the Inova X5. Even if they're too weak to light up the 6P, they'll work for hours in the Inova.

Very nice. I wish I could go on a knife shopping spree!

Esav- I would have never thought of that! Thanks. I actually know very little of the different lights but this forum has piqued my interest- which is why I had to try the different colors as well.

Pit- The model I was sent did not match website info, nothing was actually wrong with the tool.

Here are a couple of shots of the Pendleton in hand

I sure hope that they got everything right and that you don't have to return everything, myself and others have had serious difficulty with them...

CLAK, I knew I had seen that collection somewhere ;) Thanks!
357...??? I tried to email you about your (and others) serious problems with us, but your BF email link does not work.
Please contact me if there is anything I can do.

Thank you!!:D- I know I went overboard but once I start.... And if I am getting stuff across the border why not make it worth it. Once I got everything out I realized I bought a damn fine starter collection with this order. I hope your kids get to go to a good universtiy now;)

Fox- So far I am impressed with it. I cut some cardboard with it and the geometry was great and handled well. I knew what to expect from the sheath before purchase but this has a chance of becoming my EDC necker.
