i recently swapped for a greco recon, and was fooling w/it last night and decided to remove the grips and wrap the handle 'ala strider w/black cord.

Man, the thing really turned out well, its got the black blade and i used black cord and it looks much better imho, thinner/fits my hand better, i wont ever go back to the old wood (micarta??) handles i dont think........i really impressed my wife who watched me do it, and she couldnt believe it turned out so well....

but i swear it looks much better imho, almost like a strider, w/the thick blade/cord wrap handles/etc, and i like it, looks, well, "tactical", lol, and like i said, remarkably like a strider, now i know its not a strider, but i think it captures the 'look' that they have fairly well, and grecos are pretty tough knives too.

will post a pic soon as i can get my &*^%$ camera working.....

Glad you are enjoying the new Greco! I really want to see that strider wrap too! The scales are Micarta, just kind of plain :p that Tanto you traded me is really getting the attention here in San Antonio. No one has seen the pinned grips on a Greco before! And the linen Micarta is nice looking as well.
Oh yea, WHOO HOO! The forums are back!!:D

Great knife for the $$$.., congrats :)
