Hello guys, my wife and I went out of town for a couple of days, and this is what I ended up purchasing about a half hour ago from the blade smith himself. It has a 52100 steel blade and the quality is outstanding especially for the price I paid.
Here it is, let me know what you think

Looks like a good useful knife and it will always have the memories of the trip with your wife and the visit with the maker attached to it. Who is the maker, are they a member here?

The handle shape I know my hand wouldn't like, but it looks like a good knife for sure.
Would make a great Hunter or EDC, seems like a great size for the role.

I don't know the price of the knife so maybe some "issues" are too picky or somehow expected to be there but, here are my two cents:
- Edge is not ground in a uniform way. Some spots the bevel is higher than others.
- No sharpening notch, you will have to be carefull when sharpening that last bit of edge
- No lanyard hole in the back of the handle. Some like it, some don't.
- Glue line visible arround pins if we get picky
- Stitching line in the seath is not at the same distance from the edge at all times.
- Stitching is not evenly spaced, some stitches are longer than others.

Other than that, I don't doubt, at all, that the knife is fully functional and will last for a couple lifetimes. After all, if you think you paid a fair price for the item and are happy with it, that's the only thing that matters.

Really like the material of the handle, use it and let us know how it works, pics are cool too. Good catch.

I only paid 80 dollars so the little imperfections only add to the character as long as it doesn’t have an impact on performance. Now if I ordered a custom from Tom Mayo, Phil Wilson, etc and it had the same
flaws, I probably wouldn’t be as passive.

Well, for $80 I think you did GREAT! I don't know how long the maker put into it, but even if you crank it in three hours from beggining to end and substract the cost of the materials... they hourly rate is ridiculous!!

Great find TheEdge01!
