This weekend, I once again had the opportunity to learn from some of the best knife makers including Harvey Dean, Richard Epting, Johnny Stout and John Young who were teaching at the event as well as many who were simply attending such as Bill Ruple, Craig Brewer and many, many other fantastic makers at the Guadalupe Forge Fall Hammer-In & Knifemakers Rendezvous. I feel so fortunate to live in an area where there are so many great makers who are so willing to share what they know with other knife makers like myself. I would like to thank each & every one of them!!! This time at the event I had the unique chance to purchase a knife directly from Harvey Dean in which I could not pass up. Harvey called it one of his tactical types, which I am pretty sure he does not make very often. It is a differentially heat treated 1084 blade with barbwire Micarta handle.

Just to be clear, in no way what so ever can my photography skills do this knife justice!

Thanks for looking,
Alan

That grind is perfection. Very clean, I can see why you couldn't pass it up.

Thanks for all the comments folks! Thank you Harvey and the rest of the bunch from the hammer-in. Every time I attend the hammer-in I learn more in a weekend than I did all year. It means a lot to me to have a knife from the makers whom I have learned from over the years, my collection will not be complete until I have at least one from each of you guys!

I've always had a soft spot for a nice spear point. And this one is more than just nice.
