I've been wanting a Hiking Buddy for a long time. Finally decided to get one as a 50th birthday present to myself.

Ruby Burlap for the forward/bolster portion
Wenge wood for the rest of the handle
Black pins in a 4 corner pattern on the ruby burlap
Black Bullseye lanyard hole
Black liner with a blue spacer
A2 steel 3/32" thick
Scandi-grind with a spalted finish

Need to get a sheath made for it, then I can't wait for the next trip to the woods.FBHB.jpg FBHB1.jpg

The best kind of Hiking Buddy indeed, nice and quiet. She is a beauty that's built to last for sure from what I can see.

That is possibly the first Fiddleback I have seen with a burlap bolster. That is a cool and very unique knife. Happy Birthday!

You made a great choice! That’s a very unique handle combination, and the HB is a wonderful all around top performer. Happy birthday and congrats on scoring a beautiful new Fiddleback!

Thanks for all the kind words. A couple of reasons behind the materials chosen. The combination of man-made(Micarta) and natural(wood), along with the bullseye lanyard hole, are Fiddleback trademarks. The ruby red bolster and blue liners are in homage to my old Army unit. I went with wenge wood because it's durable, looks cool, and is just fun to say.

I am very glad you are happy with it my friend. Its been a long conversation. What an honor it was to make it for you. Thank you for your service. Now. Show me the knife dirty.
