It's official. My first emerson knife, finally, is on the way. I have a Order confirmation and tracking number. I had to tell someone. Thanks to whoever listens. Emerson Horseman satin blade.

Congrats! Did ya get a plain edge like how you wanted?

Lol. Actually I convinced myself that I wanted the combo edge. I have so many plain edged knives and the purpose of this knife is to be my ready for anything tool. A survival tool, life saving tool, a defensive tool that's always on me. I figured some serrations help the knife to be ready to cut anything. My next one will be plain edge.

Congrats! The horseman is my all time favorite. After reading what Ernie said about serrations, I gotta convince myself I can wait for the Christmas knives to come out before I get a serrated Emerson

Here's a pic to hold you over [emoji6]

Cool man, now comes the worst part...the wait for it to get there.

I think its been two weeks now? No but it feels like it. I underestimate the value of overnight/next day shipping. The company shipped it out the day i ordered it. Great thats awesome. Then the next day it sat in the post office all day. Why do i picture a bunch of happy postal workers shredding boxes with my knife :).

Congrats on the "pick up" ....dont be scared when you get it if you are not aware ...mine came stiff as a board, but after a day or to of opening and closing plus clean and regrease its the smoothest emerson i have.

congrats!

my first and so far only emerson is a custom cqc8 - my favourite knife!

you will love the horseman!

My spyderco military was the same way. I like it that way. Love the break in period.

It arrived today. Why did I wait so long to buy one. The horseman is the perfect size. The "mini" cqc 8 is not so mini. It's the same size as my at 0562. I do find it funny that it is dated 2012. It has the back spacer not the stand offs. The blade is really one of those things you need to see in person. Amazing work. Fit and finish is pretty damn good and lock up is early and blade is centered perfect. I need more.

congrats! the ergonomics are amazing on the 8 models - i remember when i held my cqc8 for the first time - just awesome - and on of the nicest bladeshapes and grinds of all times!

I really like the blade shape and the handle shape. Now I'm curious how the cqc8 would feel. I think that's next on my list.

That's awesome man, it sounds just like mine when I got it back in 2012. I like the spacer in the back. One of the best EDC blades of all times for sure; have you waved it yet? I got addicted to it; then I try to wave everything I carry, then remember that sometimes I have a different knife in my pocket; yeah I do carry other brands, but I'm still in love with my Emersons. I like the "rawness" feeling, they scream to be used. I also have a CQC8 and I usually gravitate to the Horseman for EDC, which believe it or not, I have never sharpened and I used it everyday for at least a year, not hard though, but still, I love 154CM. Congratulations, now go hide the wallet:)

I forgot to tell you a story, I went to pick up my mom from the airport back in 2012, but I forgot I had the horseman with me, so she needed to cut a zip tie from her luggage and I waved it out of my pocket to cut it, when she saw it she said "oh my God, son, why do you carry such a huge automatic knife?" I said "Mom, this is a small one, you haven't seen my Super Commander yet, and it is not an auto", she laughed with me. On our way out, I saw the signs on the doors with the "No Knives" legend. ooops! Good thing no one else saw me:)

I waved it a few times and it is addicting. I think it will wave open better after it breaks in. This knife feels so solid in the hand like i could take it to hell and back. This may be my favorite knife to date.

Of all the Emersons that I have, the CQC-8s are my favorites with the Mini CQC-8 (Horseman) being the go-to size most of the time.

I think someone has the sickness! Great knife. Welcome to the addiction! It only gets worse haha
