Damascus done with hand hammers(and sledge) only, no power hammer or press.
120 layers random. Aldo's 15n20 and 1084
Just a hair under 9 inch blade.
13 3/4 overall length.
12oz.
1/4" spine
Mild steel and copper fittings.
Carved caribou antler handle.
Still have to make the sheath.

Great job and a fine looking Bowie....really nice job of forging-to-shape and the guard, handle-carving plus the contrast of the copper is very tasteful. :)

You've got a wonderful combination of materials, colors, and textures here, IMHO. :)

And as another guy who hammered out some billets by hand before getting powered equipment... I feel for 'ya! :D

Very nice combination. I like this knife. Especially the carved caribou and the polished copper is looking great. :thumbup:
Much respect for doing it with a hand hammer and no support from a power hammer! :eek:
