Here's a shot of my new one. I sure found out the hard way about all damascus knives. I had two done up. Heat treated blades and frames. Did a draw on the frames back to 48Rc. Went to put the bend in the lock on the first one and "SNAP". I'm real sick. Next time, bend then heat treat and draw.
I used my propane torch and drew the lock bend area back a little more and it worked fine.
Dang that was an expensive lesson.

Brad, I got AC in the shop since you were last here. I think I just had a hole in the wall the last time you were down.

Peter, "Bruddas of Da Broken Steel" sounds like it would make a good samari movie....

Bruce, I is learning to make damascus from the Right Honorable Bailey Bradshaw. I have an old ironworker that needs a hydraulic cylinder and I'll be able to make damascus here at my shop.
That and more lessons. Bailey's got me talked into joining the ABS so I guess I'll be a hammer head.

Beautiful work Larry! I really like the textured titanium overlays. They work really well with the damascus. Bummer about the breakage but things should get a lot less expensive if you're making your own!

Thanks Peter. They're inlays and I hope you're right.:)
Here's a shot of the backspacer and it will give you an idea of the thin-ness of this these two pieces.
