My New Kitchen Friend

I just got this today, from shanto. It has a 9" blade 14" total 2.5" tall at highest spot from 3/16" stock. It has English walnut scales with 1/4" stainless pins. This knife is thinned very nice at the cutting edge and the tip, just cut up an onion and it is a great chopper.

Congratulations! I got to see these first hand before they were sent out. There's a real visceral excitement in holding that monster kitchen knife, makes you want to cut stuff up.

The steel is O1. It is getting a nice patina already.
