I received this beauty from Bill Buxton in mid December . She has a blade of 52100 steel 3x quenched ,( hope I got that right , maybe Bill will chime in ) brass gaurd large enough for my fat mits , and Angora Goat handle . I've carried her everyday since unwrapping her ! I have a complete test and review in the writing stage now , she has had the crap worked out of her and just keeps asking for more . Many thanks to Bill for the great knife and to all for looking . I am one proud owner.

Regards,
Jerry

Jerry,

Thank you so very much for the great compliments, as a knifemaker I strive to make people proud of their investments through the appearance and performance of my blades, and your acknowledgement is most gratifying.
The blade is handforged from 3/4" round 52100, 3x quenched and 3x temper.

Thanks
Bill

Stumpy and Bill ,

I'll have the test up in a few days Stumpy . The scratches don't show in the pic but they are there . This has been one great blade and the goat horn is spectacular in person , thanks for the compliment Stumpy .

Bill , only to happy to post such a great knife for all to see and the Bird and Trout is next .

Regards to all and Happy New Year ,
Jerry

Jerry, I really admire your taste in knives. I just ordered a goat handled, 52100 bladed knife from Bill that I am anxiously awaiting. I look forward to your review as it will probably be posted before I receive my knife.

That looks a lot like an Ed Fowler Prong Horn(intended as a complement!)

Keith , Bill makes super knives and they are a great value in the custom market .

RaynorShine , Thanks for the kind words . Bill will build you one fine blade . As I'm sure you have found out , he is always willing to answer any and all questions one might have . I think I've e-mailed him to death about this one and my smaller knife he is working on . I really enjoy his input and the knowledge he shares . I got just a couple of small things to do and then I'll have the review up .

Jefroman , I'm sure the influence Ed has had on my knife taste and Bills' bladesmithing show strongly . We are both great fans of Mr. Fowler . She is one edge holding moma , I made the required 200+ cuts on a lay of hemp rope ( I got bored before the blade was ready to quit )

Thanks to all for the kind words , I respectfully direct all the honor to Bill .

Regards ,
Jerry
