:D :D I walked in the kitchen and found my wife using my new Ontario RD4 too cut her craft stuff!!! I guess the 10 slightly smaller knives wouldn't have worked...she grabbed the biggest one I have. She said "I needed a big knife to cut this foam". I have not cut anything with this knife yet- it was BRAND NEW! WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I guess order some pink handles, or hurry up and cut something "manly" with it!!!!!

Has one of your knives ever been wuss-a-fied? :D

I feel your pain bro. I regularly have to 'borrow' my knives back when my wife rapes them with crafts. Yet I buy her a deluxe exacto set to use, and dust collects. Even bought her a couple of cute girly colored petite knives, but the just sit at the bottom of her purse. Worse, my leather awl became a nail countersink for her one day. Bought her a set of her own countersinks, and she still thinks my awl is for nails. Leatherwork is a craft even, and she abuses my tools and not hers. Grrrrr.

Its 1/4 inch 5160 right? I think cutting some foam wont hurt it at all.

Sounds to me like an open invitation to go out and buy some new knives, now that you two are "sharing" your present collection. Be sure and bring her along to help you choose your next addition to "the" collection. Lucky you! Maybe she needs a new purse too.

Blessings,

Omar

Cutting craft foam with a man's knife? It's her knife now, and she owes you a new one.

Or you could scrape some peeling paint with her leg razor and call it even, maybe take her Acura mud-bogging, or delete Lifetime from the cable lineup.

I just ordered a new Syderco Tenacious- I used Paypal funds from another sale and still got the "you needed another knife" bitching. My current collection is about 12 mixed folders and fixed (that she knows of) all of which have their place. You should have heard the talking too I got when she seen the Paypal invoice from the Robert Carter Custom I ordered. :D I tried to slip it by..... ooops! It was worth the ass chewing I got! 154 CM never looked so good!!!! (she didn't understand) :D

Maybe now she will come to her senses! ....na I doubt it! LOL!

Oh no! First thing you do is grab that knife, go "Grrrrrrr!" with your teeth gritted, and make some "stabby"" gestures with it. Do it stat! That's like first aid. No go and find something to beat the bejeebus outta with it. Tree, garbage can, whatever. That should give that fella his cojones back.

^^^^LOL. Hey just means you can get her one and she can being to understand our obsession.

No thats not it means lol.....it means my friends sis needed a knife long story short it..it..cry.cry..it cut hot pink (here's the upside) duck tape....

I did keep it away from the other knives for now. I'd hate to see it get "the business" from my KaBar!

What if my new knife is now....."confused" and needs to do some ..."soul searching"?
I'm taking it out first thing tomorrow for some manly activities! LoL!

Man, I was thrilled when my wife grabbed my Becker BK16 and cut sine yarn with it. I had just finished putting a custom wood handle on it and she finally started to see what I see in knives. That little change made it something worth looking at and now I'm going to have to figure out how to get it back in my collection.

All that to say... It's worth it. The more she gets used to using them, the better off you are.

My wife and I called off the jihad a few years ago. She no longer uses my Snap-On screw drivers to open paint cans, and I stopped using her nice sewing scissors to cut cardboard and stuff.

Ohhhh my tools are my tools....no ifs ands or buts about it!
