So yesturday I purchased my newest knife to my collection, it was orginally a gift to a friend but considering it was a good price I bought two. KBAR Zombie Acheron The sheath I ok just wish it came it a chain (since it does seem to be designed as a neck knife). The Blade itself does seem as sharp as I was expecting (more like the old USMC sharpness) just shinked down, I do like the blade shape though. Handle however is my biggest problem, my hands arnt the biggest in the world in fact their quite average but gripping this knife seems aquward and clumsy, as if it was better disigned for a 5 year old girl or a small chinese worker to carry. I havnt used it in the feild yet before I might redo or at least paracord the handle first, as well as resharpen it.

Anyone else own this blade and have any comments, or am I just being to critical???

I find most remora/parasite knives too small for my hands. I grip in the med/lg range, and have yet to find a pouch back up knife that fits me.

The whole point of the remora/parasite knife, is stark contrast to what's in the big sheath. So, you have something large and small to work with.

Try using a 3 finger grip, with your pointer finger on the blade, as if to skin a critter, see if it comes into perspective.

I don't think it comes across as critical, it is a matter of personal preference. I have smaller hands so some of the larger blades don't fit as well or feel as comfortable as a Mark I, it is really whatever feels comfortable and works for you. Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear about the sharpness.

i have one in my hunting bag just incase I forget a knife. It is small, but its a back up last ditch. I cleaned a squirrel with mine, worked, and I'm sure I could field dress deer with it if its all I had. I re-sharpened it before it even went in the bag, It took shaving edge. Under 10 dollars I'd say its worth it, small and light, there when you need it. I thought about making a handle for it but then it will get bulkier so decided not to. It is what it is and works for what I wanted it for.
*funny note on the knife, I tried to strip the black paint/coating off soaked for over an hour in EZ strip, still black.
