A friend and I took a trip down to the GEC Rendezvous last weekend. Along the way we stopped and did the W.R. Case factory tour. I picked up the Mini Copperlock at the Case/Zippo Museum after the tour. I could not find this Patriotic Kirinite handle available in Canada and also I wanted to do a hands on selection of my knife. I paid a little more in the company store but still it came in less then if I had had to ship it to Canada.

The Case Tribal Lock was from one of the vendors at the knife show at Timber Lodge that Saturday in Titusville. I guess I really like that Patriotic Kirinite handle. It is my second tribal lock.

The Arno Bernard Meerkat in warthog ivory was shipped and waiting for me at our Titusville hotel by a kind Blade Forums member who had posted it for sale in the exchange. I miss out on many great knives as most individuals do not want to deal with the hassle of shipping to Canada.

The Meerkat is my first fixed blade EDC. It as been in my pocket since the return home.

A terrific trip and some great souvenirs.

Fantastic fixed blade Mike, congrats.

Did you pick up any knives from the GEC visit?
Unfortunately no. I am a single blade fan. There was a couple of Vipers in the store display case but I already the snakeskin acrylic. I was tempted by one of Lyle's Lick Creeks but I only saw the twin blade version when I was there.

I also did not find any single blade Queen knives in D2 which I had been hoping to add to my collection.

Maybe next trip.

Great finds Mike so glad you were able to pick those Patriotic Kirinite covered Case knives on your trip and that Arno Bernard Meerkat is absolutely gorgeous.

Oh Yeeah.
Knives as souvenirs of trips away and other adventures is one of my fave concepts:D:thumbsup:

I second that meako. In fact it's about time for a road trip to Sevierville Tn. to pick up some knives errrr....... souvenirs.

I tend to pick up knives wherever I go too! Going to a knife show would just make it even easier than normal to expand the collection , but they always seem to be at the times that are busiest for me at work...
The color of that ivory is terrific, nice score:thumbsup:
