To all those folks on this forum who know the situation, thanks for your support, prayers, concerns, and thoughts during my time in Iraq. My family and I extend our deepest gratitude to you and appriciate the use of this forum for a primary means of communication during my time w/o email. (Thanks Bladeforums and ATC!!)

In other news: I finally got home and what was waiting for me??? MY WIFE!! ;)

and my Lance Hawk too :D :D :D
After all the kisses and hugs, I openned the package to discover...the most beautiful and grotesque looking axe/lance/halbred design ever!! :D Man is this thing a beast!!

Here are the specs: H10, 3/8" thick steel, heat treated to 58 on the head and low 50s on the handle. The primary "knife/lance" edge is 6" long and 2" wide. The "axe/tomahawk" head is 3" long (along curve) and features sharpened hooking beak. The "piercing" edge is 3" long and features a sharpened spike for 2 1/2". The thing weighs in at around 3 3/4 lbs with G-10 handle slabs (which are bolted on using allen screws). The handle features an enscription: "CON TE PARTIRO" which is Italian for "I'll go with you." (Meaning this tool will "go with me" always...

It is slightly head heavy, but features 2 "hand hold" areas where the hands fit comfortably on the handle. The G-10 slabs are especially nice and are extremely comfortable in the hand. Justin did an amazing job of grinding the piece and though there are some spots that are rough (around the primary knife edge), his ability to even shape and grind something like this both surpasses my expectations and beliefs...

I am extremely happy with my lance hawk and, though I do not yet have a name for her, I do have a hunting trip planned. My brother, father, and possibly a Marine buddy of mine will be taking a trip in the next year (with luck!) to Flordia to hunt wild boar...with a tomahawk!!!

Hope you are all well and if you have picture requests, I would be happy to email you pics of the piece (as well as its construction, I have a lot of pics of the making of the lance hawk too!)

God bless
Jess

Robert from Survival Sheaths did an amazing job of sheathing the beast too...The concealex rig is both easy to wear and comfortable, and thought the monstrosity rides a little funny in the sheath, the easy of removal is excellent!

A wife and a new toy, LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

PS, take your wife to see Pirates of the Carribean. You might even learn some tricks for your new toy!!!;)

Warning...Warning...THIS IS ONLY A JOKE..
THIS IS ONLY A JOKE......
Does the spec refer to the tomahawk or your wife?....
Geez....Anyway, I am dead....
Steve

You want the specs on my wife, you have to ask nice ;)
Anyhow, my wife and I made a pact long ago: she fights her own battles! You didn't offend me in the least, but be warned:
If she ever catches wind of this...whew...your dead ;)

Now that you mention it, my wife and the lance hawk do share some similarities: both are hard in the head area and softer near the bottom :D They both feature "hand holds," but I am the only one that gets to "grind" my wife :D :D

My wife says we are all "sick" but I take that as a compliment these days!!

Great to hear you are home safe. I want to thank you for serving our country. I hope you enjoy your new toy and get some well deserved time off.

Let me add,
Thanks, Sarge Glad you're back safe...enjoy your time off...when do you get out?....when are you going on your hunt?
Where and when will you tell us about your time 'in country'.....
Oh, and anyway 'cuz I am dead' ...
What ARE the specs on your wife, please?....Is that nice enough?...
Seriously, Thank you....for keeping us updated, for what you might teach to the kids you might come in contact with, and for the book we hope you'll write...

Check out the below link.

These were published in my home state's newspaper during the war. I wrote most during my time in the field and emailed the "journals" home to my parents, who then sent them on to the paper.

I hope to write a book with my folks about the last few years and our experiances...
My brother is now planning on enlisting in the Corps as well and he may add his $2.67 worth to the book eventually...who knows...

As for my wife's specs:
height: 5 feet 9 inches (yup, an inch taller than me!)
weight: Don't YOU wish!! ;)
ring finger: size 3
shoe size: women's size 8 (or 9, depending on brand!)
hair: auburn red, shoulder length
smile: worth a million bucks!!

Well, that's it for now...hope you enjoy the link and "journals" and with luck, a book will get out there in the next 8 or so months...depends on the writing quality, publishers, and if I can find one
