My New Love Affair

Well yesterday I have lost my Infi virginity.

First I have to say thank you to Hillbillenigma, for what used to be an unused CG ASH-1, Brian of Okuden, for my awesome new A2 kydex sheath, and of course Amy-O for her patience and quick email responses to a noob of the brand. It has been a pleasure interacting with all of them.

I thought to myself when I responded to Hillbill's post with an “I'll take it,” “You have to be crazy dropping this much money on A knife.” Then I said to myself, “You're in for a penny, might as well make it a pound and order a sheath too.” The mental battle that I was fighting over my buyers remorse was somewhat relieved when I recounted all the handbags and shoes my wife has purchased over the years and when I gasped at the price she always responded with, “Don't be upset. When it come to quality, you get what you pay for.”

Then yesterday, after work, I rushed home to to beat the mailman to the house and when the knock came to the door I started to feel like a kid at Christmas, because there they were. Two boxes, what was the odds that the perfect storm would occur. I'd be able to sneak out of work early and that both the knife and the sheath would arrive on the same day?

Yesterday was a cold one here in the DC area and in a matter of seconds, while signing the postal paper work, I new what I was going to be doing with my evening. That's right, I went out to the wood pile and I grabbed 4 logs of wood. My chocolate lab and I spent the next 30-40mins out side making pencil size wood sticks out of the wood. It was far more kindling then I needed but it was just down right fun and the ASH-1, as seen in a number of YouTube videos, performed flawlessly. Then we (the dog and I) processed a bunch of the larger stuff that I never got around to last fall. Brought it in the house and start the last fire of the season in the fireplace.

I have to say that I believe that this is the beginning of a new love affair. I'll never put this knife through the paces that I've seen and read that some of you guys and girls have done with your knives but I have the confidence that this piece of steel is going to be by my side for a long, long time.

The next time the wife buys a handbag or another pair of shoes and says to me, “Don't be upset. When it come to quality, you get what you pay for,” that will now trigger my new found pavlovian response of, “Buy more Infi!” lol

Again, I can't thank all of you enough for your kindness and knowledge that you have provided me through the forums. I'm actually starting to get used to all the initials without having to flip between Busse Collector and the forums.

Last but not least, thank you Jerry for your very functional art.

Popcopy,

P.S. Now I'm biting at the bit for my new Boss Jack to arrive... Amy-O you rock thanks for the email confirmation. It completely made my day

It's more than a love affair. It's an addiction. An INFIdiction.

Welcome to the fun and games and the wonderful world of Busse knives!!!

I would tell you to run but you may be selling or trading or upgrading INFI soon so I'll say welcome. It really is the best tuff on earth and in all honesty should probably be listed on the periodic table as INFI, the only element with 4 letters.

Tough as hell, holds and edge and is easy to sharpen. I swear its the devil's steel. Awesome stuff man. I am a believer. Welcome.

Welcome to the trough! I think the Steel Heart in any of its incarnations is one of the finest field knives you can own. Congrats to a good start!

Congrats on your score and your Ash-1, but you have'nt experienced your true potential for love until you've fondled one of the Mistress's. :D:thumbup:

Welcome

Once you've played with a Busse knife, you see all other knives in a very different light. ;)

To help with your rationalization ........

A bargain is what you get, not what you pay !

The CG Ash is pretty beastly. use it in good health.

But if you are going to compare it to your wife buying expensive shoes, you have to tell us,

Dos the Ashcg match the sheath, and your back pack????
