My new love for Becker Knives

I just wanted to let this forum know how much the constant raving about Becker knives has rubbed off. Long have a been a fan of Kabar getting Mk1 and Mk2 and other various kabars but finally got a Bk11. This knife has made me essentially throw all my folders in the closet as I have no use for them anymore since I can have the bk11 on me at all times and its about 1000X stronger than ANY folder i have ever come across.

All this made me order a Bk2, since I held one and loved it. I do have a question however, how much would a premade or even custom made sheath be for the bk2? I really would rather not keep the stock one. If anyone knows a good place I could look that would be great.

Lastly if I ordered the Mcarta scales would sanding them lightly then staining them with wood stain work well?
 
Welcome Dr Rez You have fine taste in knives.:thumbup: This forum can be rough on the bank account that's for sure.

I don't know if wood stain would work on micarta but I would look into dieing it if you want to change the color. That's how everyone seems to do it.


Have you seen the BK5 and BK15? Seems like they would appeal to someone who cuts a lot of meat.


My favorite sheath is the Azwelke kydex. You can get one for your BK2 for around $40. Here is a link to the Beckerhead that makes them and a picture of one.

If you want kydex, check azwelke, godspeed, and Kiah.

For leather, look at Skystorm, baldeagle, or wildmanh.

For nylon with an insert, look into the Spec Ops Short Combat Master.

after my last folder.. i jumped on becker. something that won't have an issue with locks. still i'm keeping my folders for everyday need at the office. can't really carry fixed blade around. fixed blade sticks out too much. lot of good choices for leather and kydex sheaths out there for becker.
 
Thank you all for the help I will check out those sheaths.

Do you guys carry on your dominant hand? I was gonna order for my right since I typically have my gun on my left hip.
 
Welcome aboard. I always tell myself i dont need another becker, then I snap out of it and hit the buy button.
 
You now have an addiction to which there is no recovery program.
