Very nice purchase, I know you'll enjoy it. The 4 is still one that I've yet to handle, perhaps I'll snag one soon.

I always thought the machax looked like it would be super awkward, but I handled one at work the other day and I must say pictures really make the angle of the blade alot more dramatic than it really is. I could tell just holding it that it would be hell to pay on a chopping job. I may have to pick one up eventually.

The Machax is such a blast to use.
I was really amazed at how much better it chopped once I thinned the edge back and convexed it.
Congrats on your new Machax and thanks for the pics!

Of all my Beckers, the BK4 was the only one that I immediately took out to play with. I split some pine firewood, chopped some brush and tried out the draw knife technique. It was invaluable for setting tree stands and clearing shooting lanes this past fall.
congrats on the new steel, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

BTW, the 4 is the only Becker that has ever bitten me. So we are now forged in blood.

Nooooo. I just ordered a 10 and you are already putting one of these in my head. My 9 is not happy about the possibility of a Machax showing up.
