After many years of not marking my knives (I couldn´t care less about this) and being asked by customers when I would start doing it again, I finally devised a mark I am satisfied with. It is a small dog´s head - the same theme I used on my etched mark - 14k gold shield applied in this case, on the butt of the knife, even though it can also be applied on scales.
I have also made some sterling silver ones but have not used them yet.
This knife itself is also a new style for me - a pure utility Scandinavian inspired model. I have made three of them and now I think I am finally getting where I wanted.
And, by the way, it was also the first time I got an image of a knife´s butt with my scanner!

It is a bit stylized but hey, being a Portagee its amazing that it is not upside down!

I'm with Harleyd2900, I didn't know what it was till you spelled it out. I know it's a bit common, but I realy like the etched or stamped "Maker's first and last name" or something like that with maybe a location on the obverse side of the blade and readable but small and unobtrusive. I see old blades from time to time that are realy well made but with a glyph or symble or initial and no idea who made it or how to trace it's legacy. Just my two cents, take it with a block of salt.
