Over on the "Other Forum", I saw a chance to buy a "NEW IN BOX" MicroTech Lightfoot LCC with carbon fiber scales and bead-blasted blade. I had always admired this particular make and model of knife and had wanted one when they were selling them new, but could not afford one at that time. I can now do so and have been looking around for one. When the opportunity presented itself, I pounced with an offer and then saw that I was offering about $50 too much. But the offeror was asking $75 too much, according to the experts who hang out in the MicroTech forum over there. I sent the offeror a PM saying that I had read the posts but that I felt that the only honorable thing would be to stand by my original offer. The offeror was decent and ethical enough to counter offer at the reduced price that the experts were saying that it was worth, some $50 less than I had offered. I accepted, off course, and sent him a money order in the agreed amount. Now, the rest of the post is as I posted in the MicroTech Forum.
FullerH said:I received my LCC on Friday and it was exactly as described by Gaetano, "NEW IN BOX". I am afraid, however, that it is no longer that way. I was unable to resist its pitiful pleas to be used as intended by its creator,so I am carrying it as a casual EDC. I work in a federal office and cannot carry anything over 2.5" to work, but I live in Virginia and am free to carry what I like there. It is built like the proverbial tank and solid as a rock. It is comfortable to use and sweet in my hand. The liner lock seats comfortably well into the blade tang and seems very secure, especially when you look at the steel liners on each side of it. As you can probably tell, this is my first Microtech, and I LOVE it.

An excellent knife and bought for a fair price. The transaction was an extremely pleasant one and I commend Gaetano for his business ethics and for his listening to the advice of the old hands on the forum.
I will add that it is quite a solid item with its two steel liners and it feels sort of like the original Spyderco Chinook in my hand. Understand that I also love both Chinook models and generally judge any other knives against Spydercos, my all-time favorite being the Terzuola/Spyderco StarMate. The LCC, for which I have lusted for some years, is bidding to at least equal the StarMate in my affections.
