I just got me a new raven in the mail and I like it even more than the one I lost. Its a different knife than my last mid tech. The blade is thinner, the handle feels a little smaller, the holes in the handle are larger, and the sheath has more features on the back.Rob,is this new thickness a design feature or did I get something different? The blade also seems a little shorter(which I like).Very pleased with my new one,but whats up with the difference?

hmmmmm Are you sure the one you lost was a Mid-Tech???? What did the mark look like?

For sure some of the spearpoint Mid-Tech Ravens had thinner blade stock due to having the plate ground to ease finishing. All Mid Tech Ravens are cut from the same Cad programs however, so there is no difference in blade or handle dimensions.

Did you loose the knife in your luggage in South America?

Rob,The one I lost in my luggage was definately thicker, but it had the same markings as the one I have now.As a matter of fact before I even opened my new mid tech I thought it felt to light to be my new knife. The handle holes are larger and the sheath is different. My old one had to be a mid tech because I only paid around 290.00 for it if it were a custom I am sure it would have been more pesos.????????

OK, it sounds like you have a first run early Mid-Tech. If it had the old style sheath that pretty much cinches it. I also experimented with different tubing to attach the handles.

Glad you liked the old one and glad you like the new one! :)

Now I just hope you get the old one back from the jungle!
