I just received this knife from Mike Carter ( www.cartercrafts.com ) and think it's a beauty! The knife is a little over 4" long with a red spiny oyster handle. The blade is 440C, mirror polished 1/8" thick. The sheath is a black pouch with leather neck thong. A little beauty!

Well, it's a small knife with a very short handle. Its OK for small jobs - exactly why I bought it. He does make a necker which is larger - might be my next one! Or maybe one of his daggers! :D

i was just looking at these the other day! I'm intrigued by the small pocketable (in my case) knives, Mike makes some really nice pieces... He did a bowie called king kong weighed in at 4 lbs 21 inches long, absolute beast!
Hows the scales on this (the feel, grip, etc), ive never seen anything quite like 'em, really different:thumbup:
yeah i need to quit looking or i might do something stupid myself:D
thanks for sharing
cheers

Thanks Ron. I'm glad you like it.

Thoses little neckers are my most popular knife. I usually make them with reconstituted handles like turquoise, onyx, malachite, azurite or rhodonite but I also have used mammoth ivory, giraffe bone, spiny oyster, jade and mother of pearl.

I usually make them in batches of a dozen or so. I have another batch ground and ready for finishing as soon as I get a couple of custom orders done so I'll have some new ones available soon.

I appreciate the kind words.

Mike

Hi ronsec -

Very sweet!

I love the one with the sheath with the crescent moon on it on the web site.

Very nice little knives.

best regards -
