When I hold a knife I am either "ga ga" or I put it down and walk away. Well I lucked out here on the mail order side of life because if I had seen this puppy in person and NOT had any money, I would have traded my hat, ass and suitcase to get this BEAUTIFUL knife!

My question is...

Have you noticed that there is no little indention on the tang for the stop pin to recess into when locked open? The sebenza has one... and it seems like an excellent feature for lock sturdiness. I was just wondering if this was consistent with all Mnandi's or just newer ones.... DOB is 11/7/2002...

Congrats on the Mnandi! I miss mine dearly, its at CRK at the moment being serviced.

As for the indentation, the mnandi doesnt need one because the indentation is there to slowdown the flattening of the stop pin when the sebenza is opened quickly--one of the small details that make the sebenza great. The mnandi blade has too little mass for the indentation to make any difference.

I'm thinking that even though it is not a hard use knife, it would be good/nice to have the stop pin set into the tang a little... Though I'm sure it works fine for anything I'll be cutting with it...

Only had mine for a short while, with the Seb still being my EDC, but it shouldn't be a problem. Though I do sometimes open it quickly by pinching the blade and flicking the handle down which creates a lot more impact stress than the "proper" opening method. If the pin ever does wear it can always be rotated as a quick fix, and if it needs to be repaired in a couple decades... hope CRK is still around then :)
