I was torn, torn I say!
I've had a Wave for my EDC for about 5 years and I've loved it. It's the best. So I was looking to get another as a backup.
Then I saw the Surge. What a beast.
But I have nice, custom leather sheaths for my Wave and it would be nice to be able to use them with the new Leatherman. Well curiosity won out and I picked up the Surge.
It's huge. Just massive. I feel like a little kid when I use it. Like this:
I don't feel that the fit and finish is quite as good as my Wave but it's still really well made. I want to order a MOLLE sheath for it, don't like the fit of the leather one it came with. I also don't really like the little plastic end on the scissor handle, just seems poorly done.
I forgot how tight a new Leatherman is, gotta break it in a bit.
Other than that, I really like it. I can see this being a regular on my belt.
