Ok I picked up a Native this week and really love it the only problem I have with it is the darn clip screw arrangement is stripped out:grumpy:. I dont know how it happened but I tried to tighten it and it just did the spin of death.

So My question is. Is this normal for the arrangement? It is my first spidie and It kinda tweeks me out.

Second would spyderco just send me me the piece or do I have to mail it to them. I really dont want to pay postage to do something that can be done at home.

I dont feel that this is a bad indication of the arrangement but I really did not try to torque it I just tried to tighten it.

They'll probably send you a new clip screw assembly if you ask them about it. The best way to find out would be to contact them directly, and avoid spinning wheels by wondering what *might* happen.

Just got the call from Amanda? She will be sending the part out:D

Way better CS than Buck!!! Broke the clip off a strider buck and they made me send it back. I mean it is just a screw!!

Thanks to Sal and the Spydie team in Co. You just got a customer for life!

Be patient with them. I have a feeling that the people there "wear many hats" so to speak, and think Amanda my do more than just W & R. On the times I've tried to contact her, she hasn't gotten back to me in what I would call a fast manner, but she has always gotten back to me.

Did you get it at Walmart? If so, be careful. Although their no questions asked return policy is great...returns usually get put back on the shelves. Could be your Native was used/stripped/returned/re-shelved before you got it. ft

Still trying to figure out how someone could strip the barrel bolt clip screw the Native uses. Are you using two coins, one on each side? The screw will spin otherwise.

Yup used the 2 coins and did get it from wally world. The clip was loose when I got it and I just tried to tighten it. Amanda seemed surprised at this also, but that is just what happened. Maybe it was a return.

I requested a new screw for my Dodo clip and they are sending one out, no problem. Of course, I was a Spyderco customer for life anyway. ;)

You might consider sending Spyderco the old screw and barrel nut just so that they can have a look at them to see if there was faulty metallurgy on them.

Yeah their CS is great! All but one of my Spydies arrived needing repairs (their QC is a whole different story it would seem), and they sent me the parts out immediately when I requested them.
