Well, I just had to go out and buy a Native, I have read so many good things about it here. And, I was not disappointed. This is the first knife I have bought in 2+ years that I didn't feel that I needed to take a sharpener to it as soon as I took it out of the box. It was SHARP; I could have shaved with it that morning if I had wanted to!
It feels GREAT in the hand. I think that I am now a firm believer in "choils". I love the ability to choke right up on the blade, yet still have more-or-less a guard there to prevent slippage. It seems that would be a great design on any knife, especially a larger, 'utility/rope' knife
. 'Course, I guess that's the military, eh?
Now, I just can't wait to get my Bladeforums Native. Anyone got the latest word on that one? Last I heard, shooting for the Blade show? Geez, it's gonna be hard waiting!
