always been a big fan of neckers, but have never owned an Izula. when I discovered there was an orange one out I broke down
added ~ 8' of 550 for the handle wrap and included a slider so the lanyard is adjustable and when the slider is pushed up just two strands hang so no loop to catch on anything
I got a kydex sheath from forum member Hoopster, fit/finish is very nice, wrapped it w/ ~ 15' of 550 and have it so I can easily adjust the length of the neck lanyard
added a few bits, 1/4" firesteel, two tinder-quicks (flattended), Fox micro whistle and photon light (light setup so that I can use it while still on the sheath- just lift the sheath and squeeze)- all secured w/ a small section of ranger band (inner tube)
nothing elaborate, but in the unlikely event of getting separated from my pack- I should be able to get a fire started, erect a rudimentary shelter and have the ability to signal
the kit is compact and flat; and light enough (4.7 oz) that you don't even know it's around your neck
buttoned up
