Hey everyone, I'd like to share my new, old Camillus camp/scout style knife. I found it while going through a box of junk at my Grandfather's house and he said he thought it belonged to either his, or his wife's father. He said he'd give it to me as long as I'd take care of it. I brought it home, cleaned it up a bit and took these photos.

The stamp on the main blade reads "Camillus" on the top line, and "Cutlery Co" on the bottom. Can anyone help me date it? From what little I know about old Camillus knives, I'm guessing 1940's from the absence of brass liners? The knife is in surprisingly good shape. All the implements lock up solid without being hard to open, and the blade hasn't been sharpened down to a nub.

Great find. That is an absolute treasure.

Wow, it looks like it's just been waiting to be pressed back into service. Very nice.

That's a great knife, with alot of honest age on it.

Such a treasure!

Camillus made the same knife for the Army during WWII, distinguished with a "U.S.A." shield.
