Well it's new to me anyway. I couldn't resist this great looking scout pattern with four attachments and brown bone scales. The blade is marked Pal Blade Co Made in USA on 3 lines with Pal Blade Co in a semi-circle. Goins leads me to believe this was made circa 1940-45. I think the can opener is a little unusal as it appears to be two pieces joined together at the base. This one hasn't seen much use. Any further information or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Great knife!

Tony and I are sitting here in a Nashville hotel room looking at this knife and I learned a few things. PAL bought all of Remington's equipment and knife parts when they went out of the cutlery business before WWII and Remington primarily went back into making government arms. It's not unusual to see both Remington and PAL blades in the same knife in the real early PAL productions.

That BONE!...looks like Remington bone to me. No, REALLY, I'm serious. :D

Thanks for your responses Peter and Kerry and for the interesting information Kerry. Do you guys think that the time frame is about right for the knife?

I noticed the fluted bail.... nice touch.

Sure is a beaut. Congratulations.

Very nice addition to your wonderful collection, Steve. Apart from that I have no additional info to offer.

The thumb catch on the can opener is also a spent cartridge remover.

Nice catch SK, Pal folders are really rare as Pal was into fixed bladed knives more than folders. I believe the Bone scale covers to be Rogers bone? Pal used a quite a lot of it....

Your lanyard ring is what they call threaded on the ends.....

As usual, impeccable taste s-k! The bone has almost a life of its own, very elegant.
