I was in Japan last week and a friend searched the internet there for me and ordered one of these. Just got it today.

It's yellow handled. Sweet. Nice, since I've never really taken to my black partially serrated one.

Total cost including shipping = $30.

Great deal, huh?

Just participated in another thread where I mentioned my reasonbly lengthy search for a plain edged Ladybug. Couldn't find any such thing.

Was the site physically located in Japan? Do you know the URL? runswithscissors would very much like to find one, even more than I would.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Sorry for not answering until now; just noticed the replies. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to any of the webpages in English. The person who helped me showed me printed web pages - all in Japanese.

I'm not sure the knife is called a "Ladybug" in Japan, but she was able to find them.

It comes in a little plastic container with a paper inserted. The paper is all in Japanese, so I don't know what it says.

Best I can do. I wouldn't have been able to get the knife at all without the help of my friend in Japan. And it was a lot of work for her to do it.

Maybe Sal could give us some help on this?????

Sal , A PLAIN EDGED,YELLOW HANDLED, LADYBUG!!!!! Where do I buy one???? Be still my
excited wallet. There just happens to be a vancancy on my keyring that needs filled.

papa-spyder, mind getting the plain edge ladybug over here? I may just have to file the serrations off the 50/50 if you don't...

Our vendor in Japan is also our distributor in Japan. Serrations don't sell well in Japan so the models offeed here in serrations are only offered in plain edge over there.

We looked into bringing in a few hundered pieces for the forumites a while ago. Unfortunaely, they do not inventory many and it would have to be a special run. Since we're working on an upgrade of the Ladybug that will be offered in both a plain edge and a serrated version, we opted not to make the special run. The new version will be out late '01 or early '02.

Sal, good the read that plain will be available but how about colors????? Do we get just black (blech)
again?? Maybe.......yellow??????? That vacancy is still open on my keyring............

Hi Tightwad. There will be black and two other colors to start with. More colors will be added if the response is ok. The colors wll be different than the Ladybug colors. I think there is purple and a green, but don't quote me on the colors. I designed the knife, but left the colors to those that have a better eye for it.

Purple? Green?

 COOOOL!!
I've a couple of grandkids. Granddaughter's fave color is purple, Grandson's is green. Wife also collects Ladybugs when she finds a different one, keeps a CF or LB II in her purse right next to her pink Cricket. Oh, she also collects purple knives. Hey, it keeps me out of trouble and puts more knives in the collection.

Guess I'll be buying several.

Waiting with severly bated breath.

Hopefully you mean much better steel! For such small knife I think you should use a good steel because it gets dull quite fast due it's small size (length) and sharpening is also hard. So at least ATS-55 is needed! VG-10 would be better of course ;).

What kind of upgrade are you planning? Design changes? CF?

Hugo.

Hi Hugo. AUS-6 is planned for the Upgrade in design. Sorry, but not enough of the market will not pay the price for a knife of this size with a better steel. Our Ladybug is almost $30 MSRP with AUS-6. We are competing against $3 copies of our Ladybug available everywhere.
