I went back to the show today. I scored again! I went to Mary & begged & pleaded her to sell me the following knife. It's a Mini CQC7B. CN blade with Green G-10 handles. Serial # 10. I begged her for about 5 minutes before she gave in. It's a great little knife. They will be available late December early January. $129.95. There was a black G-10 version there on Friday but I think it was clipped to Ernie's pocket today.

ARRRRRRGH again!

When I ordered my Waved-7 and I was talking to Mary she accidentally let the cat out of the bag about the small 7s coming out and asked "Well are you ordering the waved 7 or the mini 7s?"

I asked "Oh you have a mini 7?"

There was a pause and then a "Yes but they won't be ready for a little while"

I then asked, "Did you just let something out that you weren't suppose to?"

I knew about it since the the waved 7s came out and I didn't tell a soul! I was ready to bust a gut keeping it in!

Especially after someone posted about wanting a smaller 3in blade or under for carrying on flights or places that don't allow larger folders. But I promised them! I kept my promise even though it caused me extreme mental anguish!

Hey Mary, Ernie, Derek ya think I can have one of these for keeping quiet this long until you announced it

We could call it even then

Pleaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee!

(whinning mode: off)

Can't wait to see these blades.

Ross T.

P.S. my wife was wondering if I do get a knife for being quiet she was asking if I were to get some customs if it would just shut me up for a whole year. I told her if it were to get me some more customs I'd do it. So now she is begging you guys for one of each and doubles on the waved 8's and 5's.

The blade is a little less then 3". Overall length is 7". Believe me I had to beg for this knife. I asked for permission to post a picture of this little bugger. She paused then said it was ok. I had to at least give her the respect to ask first since she was nice enough to give me the knife even before it came out. I wonder where #'s 1-9 are.

The blade is 2.9 inches and there will be a spearpointed version. They made it under 3 inches to beat laws and allow folks to carry them on planes.

I can't wait to get my hands on a Black bodied, Satin bladed, plain edged Mini CQC7A. It will be my travel knife.

David, Email coming in. I have an idea.

Mary told me the same thing when I was ordering my waved CQC7B, that "they were working on a three quarter scale CQC7". So when I posted on the "Wish List" thread my Airline Survival Knife wish, I kinda knew it would be a real possibility anyway, I was just kind of giving them a little nudge, shall we say? I'll take a plain edge Green-T blade, black G-10, blue liners model thank you.

These are cute little buggers. BTW David T wasn't kidding about having to beg!

I begged also, to no avail. Need some lessons I guess. Came away empty handed. Good work David. The mini 7 is a great design. Looking forward to seeing them out there.

You guys have to work on your cute Bambi eyes & sad puckered lips when begging. Blinking alot like you'll cry if you don't get it helps too. I've got it down to a science.

As John mentioned, the picture above is somewhat distorted. The handle looks huge compared to the blade. The handle is actually much smaller then in the picture. I will post a better pic with a CQC5 next to it for comparison. Still trying to figure out this camera.

SUPER !!! I can hardly wait to get one. Is yours for sale? I have some hardly used "Elect Harry Browne" signs I will trade for it. Everyone, watch your six.

The man himself told me that he was putting the wave on the mini CQC7... this past weekend at NY show. thats my next buy!... lets just hope my name is picked at Blade

A better pic for size comparison, I hope. Top knife is a CQC5.

To me this is a move in the wrong direction. I prefer a larger cqc7. The current cqc7 is already way to small.

In the other post it states that this would be a good carry knife for people who go on airplanes alot and/or live in places with very restictive knife laws.

If it was made to be able to be carried on board a plane then Emerson is gonna have to make it a plain edge. Most Airlines don't allow anything serrated.

Finally someone brought this up. Interesting, since part of Emersons current policy is such that plain edge models are only available thru Emerson direct. Hopefuuly there will be an exception, at least on first batches off the line. I eyeballed this spear point version while at the show. But apparently, I don' t bat/ flutter my lashes...

BTW- it does fill the hand nicely although it is a compact model.
